Each year, an enthusiastic, if elderly group of motorcyclists enjoy the opportunity of racing their classic motorcycles (also elderly) at high speed along the front drive of Aske without the threat of prosecution.
The event, which conforms to the legal requirements of the ACU is conducted in a manner reminiscent of a pre-war motorcycle gathering, and is a nostalgic reminder of a more gracious age. There is no prize money to be won, merely the satisfaction of achieving success.
The event is principally run for the competitors, although a handful of spectators usually turn up and are welcomed.
Competitors come from the length and breadth of the British Isles, and on occasion, from the Near Continent.
